Atsion Mansion Open for Tours

   Atsion Mansion

I’m not sure how regular the schedule will be, but the recently restored Atsion Mansion on Route 206 in Shamong will have it’s first tour this Sunday, July 19. You will want to call the Ranger Station to confirm. From what I understand the tour will focus on the architecture, there are no furnishings, and the tour will not include the basement.

Unfortunately I will be out of state and will have to miss the opening tour but will get there soon.

Tours will be conducted on Sundays at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. There is no charge, however tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained at the Atsion Camping Office and are limited to fifteen per tour. Please note that they are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
The Atsion Mansion is the home of noted ironmaster Samuel Richards and appears today as it was when completed in 1826. As such, it does not contain plumbing, electricity, or heat other than fireplaces. The home, unfurnished, is offered as an architectural tour. To see the home is to step back in time.
For further information regarding tours, please contact the Atsion Camping Office at 1-609-268-0444.
